Terms of Use

Effective date: September 30, 2026. By installing, opening, or using SilkNava you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and — if you tap Agree on first launch — the in-app welcome notice. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Questions: hello@silknava.com.

These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and SilkNava. Apple is not a party to this agreement for in-app features, except that Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and Paid Applications terms also apply to App Store downloads and purchases. If those Apple terms conflict with a store requirement, the Apple terms control for that purchase.

What SilkNava is — and is not

SilkNava is consumer software for optional spoken alarms (Rise), wind-down audio (Sleep), and spoken affirmation sessions (Reflect), plus on-device voices and optional voice cloning. It is not a medical device, not psychotherapy, not a sleep clinic, not a crisis service, and not a guaranteed alarm clock. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition. Do not use it as your only wake method for work, medication, travel, caregiving, or anything where missing a time could cause harm.

Health, mood, and safety

Spoken audio, atmospheres, and generated scripts can affect mood, sleep, anxiety, or concentration in ways we cannot predict. Stop immediately if you feel worse. Do not use SilkNava while driving, operating machinery, or in any situation where inattention is dangerous. SilkNava is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line — not this app.

You are solely responsible for how you use the app, including volume, overnight playback, headphones, and whether an alarm is appropriate for your situation.

Alarms (Rise)

Rise uses the operating system’s alarm facilities (including AlarmKit on supported iOS versions). Delivery is best effort. SilkNava does not warrant that any alarm will fire, fire on time, play the intended words or sound, or be audible. Alarms may fail or behave unexpectedly if, among other things: the iPhone is powered off, has a dead battery, is in a restricted or locked-down mode, Focus / Do Not Disturb / Silent / Low Power interferes, the system withholds AlarmKit, the app is deleted or force-quit in a way the OS does not allow background work, prepare/audio did not finish, a file is missing or corrupt, the clock or time zone is wrong, or Apple changes platform behavior.

Repeating Rise keeps the same baked script and audio. Fresh does not rewrite a repeating alarm. Fresh only writes a new Theme file when you turn that Rise off and then on. You must verify the scheduled time yourself.

Generated scripts and audio

Theme Prepare may write words with an on-device model or, when you still have credits, a cloud model. Exact mode speaks the words you typed, unedited. Sleep and Reflect Exact still spends a credit when credits remain and sends those words only to synthesize that session’s voice. Rise Exact spends a Rise credit; Rise voice stays on your iPhone. Output can be wrong, repetitive, off-topic, culturally insensitive, sexually suggestive, violent, politically charged, or otherwise unsuitable. We do not review each script. You are responsible for listening before relying on a file and for any Theme notes or Exact text you type. Do not put passwords, health details, children’s data, or other people’s private facts into Theme or Exact fields.

When credits remain, Sleep and Reflect voice (Theme or Exact) is synthesized in our cloud and delivered to your iPhone. Rise voice is always made on the device. Cloud copies of that script and audio are deleted after your iPhone has the file. An empty credit bag is not a defect: Theme then stays on-device, and Exact voice is also made on the device.

Credits, trial, and SilkNava Plus

New accounts receive a one-time welcome bag: 30 Rise Theme prepares and 4 shared Sleep or Reflect files. SilkNava Plus (com.silknava.plus.monthly) is an auto-renewing subscription. Where Apple offers it, the first subscription may include a 7-day free trial once per Apple ID (30 Rise and 5 Sleep or Reflect files). After Apple charges, the full monthly bag (60 Rise and 20 Sleep or Reflect files) starts on that charge date and lasts until that period ends. Unused monthly credits expire at renewal. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. Manage in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Prices are shown by Apple at purchase.

While Plus is active you may buy a consumable Theme credit pack (com.silknava.credits.pack1) for the price Apple shows (target $0.99). Each pack adds 30 Rise and 10 Sleep or Reflect files on top of whatever remains. Pack credits do not expire with the monthly reset; monthly credits still reset. Packs require an active Plus subscription at the time of purchase. If Apple refunds a purchase, SilkNava Plus and remaining unused credits from that purchase (including extra packs) are removed. Payment, taxes, refunds, and family sharing rules are Apple’s.

Bundled voices, atmospheres, mix, speech rate, and sentence pause are free. Cloning a personal voice is SilkNava Plus.

Voice cloning

You may clone only a voice you own or for which you have documented, informed consent. You must not clone a public figure, a minor, or anyone who has not agreed, and you must not use a clone to deceive, defame, commit fraud, or impersonate. Consent records stay on the device. Clone samples are not uploaded by default. Misuse can be illegal. You indemnify SilkNava for cloning you perform.

Acceptable use

No unlawful, harassing, infringing, or deceptive use. No attempts to extract model weights beyond ordinary use, attack our servers, resell generated audio as another person’s speech, or circumvent credit or Plus checks. We may suspend cloud features if we reasonably believe these Terms are broken.

Intellectual property

The app, models we ship, and branding are owned by SilkNava or its licensors. You keep rights in the notes and Exact text you type. You grant us a limited license to process Theme text in the cloud solely to generate that script when you choose Theme with credits, and to process Sleep or Reflect session text (including Exact) solely to synthesize that session’s voice when credits remain. Those cloud copies are deleted after your iPhone has the file. If you use Share, you also grant us a limited license to store a copy of the shared vibe, Exact wording, or complete theme (not audio, not a cloned voice) for up to 30 days so the recipient can open it. Generated files on your phone are for your personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Sharing

Share lets you send a friend a link to a vibe, Exact wording, or a complete theme (including voice, background, length, sentence pause, and speech rate). Sharing does not spend credits. Audio files and personal clones cannot be shared. Anyone with the link can open the copy until it expires after 30 days. You are responsible for what you share. Do not share other people’s private words, health details, or anything unlawful or deceptive. Recipients who lack SilkNava Plus may need to pick a free voice or background before they can save. Rise alarm audio remains a 29-second on-device file; a future longer Android share would not be usable as a Rise alarm on iPhone.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SilkNava is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted alarms, accurate scripts, pleasant or appropriate language, successful clones, or that the app will meet your needs.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SilkNava and its operators, officers, and contractors are not liable for missed alarms, lost wages, missed travel, emotional distress, sleep disruption, offensive or inaccurate generated content, clone misuse by you or a third party, data loss after you delete the app or wipe data, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for SilkNava in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $50. Some places do not allow certain limits; there, we limit liability to the fullest extent allowed. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud or willful misconduct.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify SilkNava against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your content, your cloning, your misuse of alarms or generated audio, or your violation of these Terms or the law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

App updates and your data

Updates are intended to keep alarms, saved scripts, audio files, and settings on the device. We do not promise that every future version can open every past file. We will not wipe your library as a silent “fix.” Privacy tools you use, OS resets, and storage failure can still remove data. Keep backups if a file matters to you.

Termination

You may stop using SilkNava at any time. Cancel subscriptions with Apple separately. We may stop offering cloud Theme or the app itself. Surviving sections include ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, and this survival clause.

Children

SilkNava is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Do not create an account or clone a child’s voice.

Governing law

To the extent allowed, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules, without limiting any non-waivable consumer protections where you live. Courts in San Francisco County, California, are the exclusive venue for disputes that may be brought in court, except where a mandatory consumer forum applies.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date will change. Continued use after an in-app or website notice is acceptance of the new Terms, except where local law requires extra consent.
